Biography: Because I will play a major role in your child's life for the next 10 months, I felt it important you should know some things about me. I have been married for 27 years; my husband is a research & development chemist for W.M. Barr in Memphis. I have two children. My oldest son, Owen, is teaches math at Southaven High School. Weston, my younger son, is a Sr. Credit Analyst for Hunter Fan.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and my Masters of Science in Reading from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro. I attained six hours of Gifted/Talented education from Arkansas Tech University, Russellville, as well as nine hours of Math & Science Methods from Harding University, Searcy, AR. I have 39 years of experience. Of those years, I have taught in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi - Grades: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. I have also taught in a Fine Arts Magnet School. My goal is to help students find their areas of interest and foster the desires to pursue their own learning.
I am a college football fan. I know how to call the Hogs! ... and how to ring a cowbell! I love to travel! I enjoy listening to most types of music - classic rock, easy listening, country, and classical. I'm a BIG Elvis fan!! I love to travel. I play the piano. I collect Hallmark Christmas ornaments and anything to do with dachshunds. Shopping is my only vice.
