About the Teacher/Welcome Msg
SPOTLIGHT 5th Grade
2020 - 2021
Welcome to my room. I am very excited about this school year. Ok, more excited than ever before to get back in the class room! Get ready to have some fun!
Here are a few, little facts about me since I am getting to know your child. I am originally from Ripley, MS, but have lived in Desoto County since 1999. I graduated from Union University and later went on to receive my Masters from Ole Miss (but I still root for those MSU Bulldogs!) My house is full of rescue fur-babies that I love to spoil. But I must say, the best thing just happened to me the week before I started back to school; I received my license to be a foster parent and now have the most amazing two boys I could ever imagine living with me. I had no idea being a boy mom could be so much fun.... and tiring!
I have taught everything from high school and 8th grade history in South Pontotoc to 1st, 2nd, 4th , and 5th grades here in Hernando. I guess I like to keep things interesting and change around now and again! This is my 23rd year of teaching and sixteenth year to make OGCE my home. I can't wait to start this new year with your child!
Here is your child's SPOTLIGHT day with me:
Monday -Smith's homeroom
Wednesday - Williamson's homeroom
Thursday - Gilbert's homeroom
Friday - Conway and Stanford's homeroom
Both traditional and VIP students will begin SPOTLIGHT classes the second week of school, Aug. 24th -28th.
**VIP students, you will login into your regular classes the first week of school on your SPOTLIGHT day to complete your assignments and be counted present. Google Chrome is the best way to view the pages in Schoology.
