About the Teacher:

Experience: I graduated from The University of Memphis with a degree in Elementary Education (K-6).  I also have a Special Education endorsement (mild to moderate disabilities). I started teaching 1st grade with Memphis City Schools before having my children and taking a few years off with them.  After we moved to Hernando, I taught kindergarten at HBK (Hernando Baptist Kindergarten).  I also worked part time doing interventions at OGCE before coming in as a full time SpEd teacher 2013. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching Special Education at Oak Grove.  In 2020, I was honored to be named OGCE Teacher of the Year!  I love working with children and seeing their pride when they master new skills.

For the 2023-2024 schoolyear, I will be teaching 4th grade.  I will be working hard to differentiate the standards according to student levels and learning styles.  I want all of my students to master standards and for the students that catch on quickly, I will create enrichment lessons to keep them challenged.  Our goal at Oak Grove is to show GROWTH WITH ALL STUDENTS!  Yes, I expect big things, but we will have fun while learning.

Bio: I grew up in Bartlett, TN.  My husband Bob and I have been married for 27 years and have a set of 24 year old twins (Molly and Landon).  We also have  a cat named Pepper.  Our family moved to Hernando  20 years ago and I am so thankful we did.  With great schools, parks, people, and activities, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to live and raise children!
