Betsy Copeland

5th Grade Language Arts

About Ms. Copeland

As a teacher...

This year is my 21st in education, all in DCS.  I have taught and loved all subjects in grades one, three, and four, and ELA and Social Studies in grade five.  Reading and writing are my specialty and passion; I love reading out loud to my students and listening to their engaging discussions about the stories.

I earned my undergrad degree from the University of Mississippi.  Also, I recently earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership through the University of Mississippi's Principal Corps program.

I am excited to join the staff at Oak Grove Central Elementary!

As a person...

I will add more to this section after the first day of school.  One of my favorite first day of school traditions is a get-to-know-me game I play with my students....can't spoil the fun by revealing too much too soon!
