Librarian

My name is Whitney Taylor, and I am looking forward to being your child's librarian at Oak Grove! It's exciting to be returning to DeSoto County as an educator. I grew up in Olive Branch and graduated from Olive Branch High School in 2004.

After high school, I pursued my career in education by attending The University of Southern Mississippi. In 2009, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Immediately following graduation, I started graduate school to pursue my Master's Degree at Delta State University and earned my degree in 2011.

This will be my eighth year as an educator. I have taught first grade for four years at Dundee Elementary School in Tunica County. I have also taught two years at Senatobia Middle School teaching 4th Grade ELA/Social Studies. Last year was my first year as a librarian.

I have been married to my husband, Clay, for nine years. We have one son, Tobias, who will be turning three soon!  We enjoy spending time as a family and always look forward to football season to cheer on the Mississippi State Bulldogs!!

My hope is that the library will become a place to help students, teachers, and parents partner together in the educational journey provided during the time at Oak Grove. I want to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere to read, learn, and research through not only books, but technology as well.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns throughout the school year. I look forward to working alongside you and being a part of your child's learning experience at OGCE.
